RWDS Workshop Report
The Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (FES), in cooperation with its partner Rural’s Women Development Society (RWDS), organized a series of workshops during July and August 2018 in Hebron, Jenin, Gaza, Bethlehem and Tulkarem. The workshops took place in the women clubs, which RWDS established in the past few years.
Rola Sarras from RWDS facilitated the workshops with main aspects such as gender justice, women’s economic empowerment and traditional role models.
With a pleasingly high number of participants we discussed the current working situation of women and the balancing act between motherhood and employment. Moreover, the daily impediments women have to deal within the struggle for gender justice have been addressed during the discussion.
The participants discussed solution and approaches to the achievement of social transformation of the labor market, the overcoming of traditional women’s role and the introduction of an empowering environment for women in the work place.
The FES team were delighted to be able to attend the workshops and contribute to the building of a network of empowerment build across the regions of the West Bank.
We highly appreciate the cooperation, the motivated participants and the lively conversations.
